Mobile Food Pantry: In 2014 & 2015, Josh Lindblom Foundation sponsored a monthly Mobile Pantry in the greater Lafayette area. The Mobile Pantry Outreach Program directly serves clients in areas where food is needed in an effort to supplement other hunger relief agencies in that area. The mobile pantry truck provides nutritious perishable and non-perishable food. The truck provides at least 5,000 lbs. of food at any given location, which is enough for 140 families to receive 30-40 lbs. of food. Each truckload usually includes a variety of products such as frozen meat, canned goods, produce, baked goods, and laundry soap. Visit Food Finders Webpage for a list of upcoming Mobile Pantry Locations .
Backpack Program:
The Josh Lindblom Foundation has provided funds for local schools in Tippecanoe County for the past 4 years. Funds are also raised at JLF Events each off-season.
The BackPack Program is designed to meet the needs of hungry children at times when other resources are not available, especially on weekends. Each school’s administration selects the eligible children, and then a backpack filled with six to eight pounds of nutritious, kid-friendly food is sent home with them each Friday. Volunteer Packing Partners fill the backpacks each week. Launched in 2006 with just two schools, the BackPack Program has grown to serve more than 3,300 children weekly in 85 schools across 15 counties (Food Finders BackPack Program)
